All I've Got to Do
Being dependable is one of the greatest gifts you can offer
April 25

The gift of availability is often more powerful than grand gestures. John wrote this early gem with a Smokey Robinson influence, promising a lover that calling on him is all it takes. The song is confident without arrogance, simply stating availability.
Offering consistent presence provides security and builds trust. The song doesn't promise adventure or perfection, just a reliable response. Knowing that someone will answer your call creates the foundation for everything else in a relationship.
Dependability demonstrates love through action, not just feeling. Anyone can say "I love you" in passionate moments; showing up consistently when needed proves the words mean something. The song celebrates this unsexy but essential aspect of intimacy.
Only when we show up for our loved ones consistently can we build trust. The willingness to be there for everyday needs, to answer the call without keeping score, to make someone's problems your immediate concern, these create the texture of lasting love.
Today, I will demonstrate reliability to someone important by responding promptly to their need, even if it's inconvenient.
Who in your life needs to know they can depend on you? How might consistent availability strengthen that relationship more than occasional impressive gestures?
Join April's New Beginnings Lessons
When George Harrison walked out of a contentious business meeting in 1969 and into Eric Clapton's garden, he discovered the strategic power of renewal. The song he wrote that afternoon, "Here Comes the Sun," would become The Beatles' most-streamed track and a masterclass in navigating transitions. Throughout April, we'll explore how their approach to new beginnings, strategic retreats, and turning endings into opportunities provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating organizational transitions, career pivots, and transforming uncertainty into growth in every area of life.
