Ask Me Why
Jun 30, 2025

Released on The Beatles' debut album "Please Please Me," "Ask Me Why" represents one of John's earliest compositions. Though often overshadowed by more celebrated tracks, this early love song reveals the transformative power of genuine curiosity.
Influenced heavily by Smokey Robinson's smooth vocal stylings, the song emerged during The Beatles' transition from Liverpool club sensations to recording artists.
Not one of their most well known songs, "Ask Me Why" positions inquisitiveness at the center of relationship-building. The willingness to be known represents one of the most powerful tools for creating authentic connection.
Google can answer most any question with technically accurate information. “Ask Me Why" offers a refreshing alternative; genuine connection flourishes when we create space for curious exploration.
Our willingness to answer when someone asks us "why," builds trust. When we respond thoughtfully, we offer authentic self-disclosure. This cycle deepens trust and understanding, creating deeper connections.
Today, I will ask thoughtful "why" questions that invite deeper sharing, creating opportunities for authentic connection.
Where have you been making assumptions that could be replaced with curious inquiry?
