THE WISDOM OF THE BEATLES

Be inspired by the most iconic band of our generation.

Get Back

Jul 3, 2025

Simple line drawing of four musicians around instruments with musical notes floating upward, faces showing joy and laughter, minimal detail but expressive body language suggesting spontaneous jamming.

Perhaps the most impressive moment in the Get Back documentary, we witness Paul spontaneously creating one of the Beatles' most infectious songs while the cameras roll. What a privilege to witness Paul’s songwriting process. It isn't just his musical genius, it's the look on his face. In that moment of creation, it isn't work; it's pure joy.

Amidst The Beatles' most challenging period, when the weight of being The Beatles had become crushing, here was Paul, grinning like a kid, jamming with his bandmates as if they were still teenagers in Liverpool. The lesson? The best work happens when we remember that creativity should feel like play, not pressure.

Unable to resist, the others join in. John instinctively adds vocal harmonies; George adds subtle guitar flourishes; and Ringo locks into that galloping groove. Nobody's forcing it. Nobody's overthinking it. It just flows. This natural, pressure-free approach unleashed something that would become another chart-topping hit for The Beatles.

Lost in a mountain of stress, pressure and deadlines? Try a new approach; see if “play” creates that spark of creativity. For today's professionals drowning in deadlines and metrics, "Get Back" offers a revolutionary idea: what if we approached our most important work with playfulness instead of stress? What if we changed our perspective and trusted the process enough to enjoy it?

Today, I will identify one creative project or challenge and approach it with curiosity and joy rather than pressure and anxiety.

When was the last time you felt pure joy while working on something challenging?

Join February's Silly Love Songs

When Paul defended "Silly Love Songs" in 1976, asking critics "What's wrong with that?" he was championing authentic connection in a world increasingly comfortable with cynical detachment. That simple question produced more than a chart-topper, it revealed how The Beatles understood that genuine relationships drive both personal fulfillment and professional success. Throughout February, we'll explore how their wisdom about love and partnerships provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating team dynamics, strategic alliances, and meaningful connections in every area of life.
