Hold Me Tight
Sometimes the greatest strength is admitting we need someone to hold us.
September 6

Tender vulnerability often requires more courage than appearing strong. Paul's "Hold Me Tight" emerged from the Please Please Me sessions but found its true home on "With The Beatles." Though Paul later dismissed it as "filler," the song's core message is sound: there's healing power in asking for what we need.
In our culture that celebrates independence, we often forget that humans are wired for connection. The gentle melody contrasts beautifully with the urgent emotional need expressed in the lyrics, a reminder that beneath our composed exteriors, we all carry the same fundamental longing for comfort and closeness.
Genuine moments of human touch and emotional intimacy aren't luxuries, they're necessities of life. The song's simple plea speaks to our universal vulnerability, the part of us that sometimes just needs someone to say, "I've got you."
Healing can happen when we connect with others. Whether it's a hug after a difficult day, holding hands during uncertainty, or simply being present with someone who's struggling, these gestures create powerful medicine. Asking for comfort when life feels overwhelming isn't selfish, it's human.
Today's fast-paced world often leaves us touch-starved and emotionally disconnected. "Hold Me Tight" reminds us that reaching out for the connection we need creates healing ripples that extend far beyond ourselves.
Today, I will courageously ask for the comfort and connection I need, remembering that vulnerability creates the foundation for genuine intimacy.
Who in your life needs you to hold them tight today? When did you last allow yourself to be truly held by someone you trust?
Join January's New Beginnings and Renewal
When George escaped a tense business meeting in 1969 and retreated to Eric's garden, he created space for breakthrough. That afternoon produced "Here Comes the Sun," teaching us that renewal doesn't require perfect conditions. The Beatles mastered fresh starts during difficult transitions, demonstrating that new beginnings emerge when you acknowledge winter, recognize incremental progress, and start imperfectly with what you have. Discover how their approach provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating change and organizational transformations today.
