How?
Patiently sitting with questions often reveals better solutions
March 31

How do you feel? How do you know? John filled "How?" from the Imagine album with unanswerable questions rather than confident declarations. The song reflects his time in primal therapy, sitting with uncertainty rather than rushing to resolve it. He bravely wore his uncertainty on his sleeve.
Opening yourself to questions without demanding immediate answers shows maturity. While culture pressures us toward quick resolutions, John dared to remain in genuine uncertainty. With his world changing around him, John allowed the world to hear his struggle. The questions themselves became a form of honesty, more truthful than false certainty.
Wrestling with fundamental questions about existence and love reveals depth. John wasn't being coy or poetic; he was genuinely searching for answers to questions that seemed like they should be simple. This admission of profound uncertainty took more courage than faking wisdom.
Today, I will sit with one important question without rushing to answer it, trusting that uncertainty sometimes holds more truth than premature conclusions.
What important question have you been rushing to answer when you might need to sit with it longer? How might allowing yourself genuine uncertainty lead to deeper eventual understanding?

When John Lennon admitted "Help! I need somebody" in 1965, he shattered expectations for rock stars by choosing vulnerability over invincibility. That radical honesty revealed how The Beatles understood that acknowledging struggle doesn't diminish strength, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. Throughout March, we'll explore how their approach to mental wellness, emotional honesty, and inner refuge provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating burnout, anxiety, and unprecedented pressure in every area of life.
