My Love

Partnership makes us more ourselves

February 7

Two figures walking together on a path that merges from two separate trails into one unified direction. Equal in size and prominence, side by side. Simple line drawing showing partnership through visual metaphor, with clean lines and clear symbolic meaning.

Linda helped Paul evolve from Beatle-Paul into himself. He wrote this sweeping ballad celebrating their partnership, and it became Wings' first American number one. The orchestral arrangement flows with unabashed romance, and Paul refused to apologize if critics found it sentimental. He and Linda were partners in everything: music, parenting, business, and daily life.

Intimacy transforms both people when built on mutual respect and genuine friendship. This song captures the gratitude of finding someone who makes ordinary moments feel extraordinary. Linda didn't diminish Paul's identity; she helped him discover aspects of himself the Beatles years had obscured.

Notable in Paul's journey was how Linda's support enabled his creative renaissance. The right partner sees possibilities in you that you can't yet see yourself. She believed in his vision when others doubted, stood beside him through criticism, and created space for his creativity to flourish.

Days spent together during this troubled time built an unbreakable bond between Paul and Linda. When you find someone who celebrates your growth while challenging you to become better, you've found something worth celebrating forever.

Absolute trust creates the safety needed for both partners to take risks and grow. Paul's willingness to be vulnerable in his music deepened because Linda provided unconditional support. When you know someone has your back completely, you're free to explore territories you'd never risk alone.

Today, I will acknowledge one way an important relationship has helped me become more fully myself.

How has a significant partnership revealed strengths you didn't know you had? What could you accomplish if you trusted that support more deeply?

Join March's Metal Health Lessons

When John Lennon admitted "Help! I need somebody" in 1965, he shattered expectations for rock stars by choosing vulnerability over invincibility. That radical honesty revealed how The Beatles understood that acknowledging struggle doesn't diminish strength, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. Throughout March, we'll explore how their approach to mental wellness, emotional honesty, and inner refuge provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating burnout, anxiety, and unprecedented pressure in every area of life.
