Now the Time Has Come

There is no time like the present to pursue peace

Today always offers the opportunity to build a better tomorrow. Ringo's 2016 collaboration with the United Nations, celebrating the International Day of Peace, carries forward John's message of peace with urgent simplicity. Performed with various artists, the track reminds us that peace isn't a someday goal but a present-moment choice requiring immediate action.

Inspired by John's legacy, Ringo took up the banner of peace after losing his bandmate, understanding that meaningful messages need consistent messengers. The collaboration demonstrates how individual commitment can ripple outward, inspiring others to join the cause. Ringo's steady, reliable presence proves that peace activism doesn't require dramatic gestures, just persistent dedication.

Moments of peace slip away if we do not actively pursue it. We tell ourselves we'll be kinder when stress decreases, more patient when life gets easier, more understanding when others change first. But Ringo's message cuts through these delays: peace begins now, in this conversation, with this person, through this choice.

Everyone waits for someone else to make the first move toward peace, but leadership means stepping forward without guarantees. Whether in family conflicts, workplace tensions, or community divisions, someone must choose to extend the first olive branch. Ringo reminds us that waiting for perfect conditions ensures we never start at all.

Today, I will take one immediate action toward peace rather than waiting for better circumstances.

What peaceful action have you been postponing that you could take right now?

Join April's New Beginnings Lessons

When George Harrison walked out of a contentious business meeting in 1969 and into Eric Clapton's garden, he discovered the strategic power of renewal. The song he wrote that afternoon, "Here Comes the Sun," would become The Beatles' most-streamed track and a masterclass in navigating transitions. Throughout April, we'll explore how their approach to new beginnings, strategic retreats, and turning endings into opportunities provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating organizational transitions, career pivots, and transforming uncertainty into growth in every area of life.
