THE WISDOM OF THE BEATLES

Be inspired by the most iconic band of our generation.

Oh My My

Sometimes a good time with friends is exactly the medicine we need

April 16

Group of people dancing together, musical notes floating around them, simple joyful movement and celebration

Music as pure celebration, Ringo delivered this funky track proving he could craft a party anthem. Released in 1973, the song reached the top five in America, showing his commercial appeal outside the Beatles. Ringo wasn't trying to be deep or meaningful; he just wanted to encourage people to have a good time.

Young people often approach life with joy and wonder; something some of us forget as we age. Sometimes you just need to dance, laugh with friends, and forget about heavy concerns for a while. The song's infectious groove encourages that kind of release.

Medicine comes in many forms, and fellowship is one of the most powerful. Joy itself has healing power, that connection through fun rebuilds resilience for facing harder moments. Sometimes the best medicine is letting loose with friends and family.

You don't always need depth to create meaning. The song doesn't pretend problems don't exist; it creates space where they don't have to overwhelm us. A healthy balance between serious engagement and simple joy keeps us grounded.

Today, I will create or accept one opportunity for uncomplicated fun with people I care about, without needing it to be meaningful or productive.

How might regular doses of simple fun with friends actually improve your capacity to handle serious challenges?

Join April's New Beginnings Lessons

When George Harrison walked out of a contentious business meeting in 1969 and into Eric Clapton's garden, he discovered the strategic power of renewal. The song he wrote that afternoon, "Here Comes the Sun," would become The Beatles' most-streamed track and a masterclass in navigating transitions. Throughout April, we'll explore how their approach to new beginnings, strategic retreats, and turning endings into opportunities provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating organizational transitions, career pivots, and transforming uncertainty into growth in every area of life.
