Tell Me What You See
Real intimacy begins with transparency - asking to truly see and be seen
March 14

Wanting genuine connection, Paul wrote this gentle Help! track asking for honesty in relationships. The song is a simple but sincere request for transparency between two people. Sometimes the most important thing you can ask someone is to let you know who they really are beneath their protective layers.
Honesty between people creates the foundation for everything else. Without knowing what someone really sees, thinks, and feels, you're just interacting with their carefully constructed image. Healthy relationships require both people to drop their guards.
Asking directly for truth shows courage and trust. The song doesn't demand perfection but requests authenticity. "Tell me what you see" invites the other person to share their genuine perspective, even if it differs from what you hoped to hear.
The exchange of authentic expression builds trust more deeply than surface pleasantries ever could. You have to be willing to show who you really are while also creating safe space for others to reveal themselves.
Today, I will ask one person to share what they truly see in a situation, creating space for honest rather than polite responses.
Who in your life deserves your request for deeper honesty? What question could you ask that invites them to drop their protective image and share what they really think?

When John Lennon admitted "Help! I need somebody" in 1965, he shattered expectations for rock stars by choosing vulnerability over invincibility. That radical honesty revealed how The Beatles understood that acknowledging struggle doesn't diminish strength, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. Throughout March, we'll explore how their approach to mental wellness, emotional honesty, and inner refuge provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating burnout, anxiety, and unprecedented pressure in every area of life.
