Weight of the World
You don't have to carry everything yourself - naming the burden begins releasing it
March 26

“Weight of the World” acknowledges that some loads feel too heavy to bear. Ringo recorded this cover after going through addiction and recovery, learning firsthand that some weights can't be carried solo. The song captures his genuine struggle.
Opening up about your struggles is the first step toward recovery. Pretending you can handle everything alone only ensures you'll eventually collapse under the load.
Recognizing your limits isn't weakness. The song gives permission to acknowledge when life feels too heavy rather than maintaining a false front of capability. Honest assessment of what you're carrying precedes asking for help.
Letting others help is not a weakness. Ringo's journey through recovery taught him that healing begins with naming what you can't manage alone, accepting the help of loved ones. Some burdens genuinely require help.
Distributing weight across multiple shoulders makes impossible loads manageable. The song reminds us that we're not meant to bear everything ourselves. Community exists precisely for sharing burdens too heavy for one person.
Today, I will name one burden I've been carrying alone and take the first step toward sharing that weight with someone else.
What heavy load are you pretending you can handle when you actually need help? Who in your life deserves your honesty about what you're struggling to carry?

When John Lennon admitted "Help! I need somebody" in 1965, he shattered expectations for rock stars by choosing vulnerability over invincibility. That radical honesty revealed how The Beatles understood that acknowledging struggle doesn't diminish strength, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. Throughout March, we'll explore how their approach to mental wellness, emotional honesty, and inner refuge provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating burnout, anxiety, and unprecedented pressure in every area of life.
