Some people inspire us to be our true selves
February 10

Geography separated them by thousands of miles, but John and Yoko found their way to each other anyway. John wrote this simple love song celebrating their unlikely union, two people from distant lands who somehow belonged together. The tropical sway of the music matches the rhythm of oceans that once kept them apart.
Instruments blend together creating a gentle, swaying soundscape that evokes the meeting of Eastern and Western influences. John simply wanted to tell Yoko that being with her felt like home. The song glows with the certainty of someone who spent years searching and finally found what he'd been seeking.
Reaching for a way out of his Beatle persona, John found Yoko, who gave him a new direction. John's journey through fame, drugs, spiritual seeking, and artistic experimentation ultimately led him back to his core desire for a trusting relationship. Yoko gave him that, but also challenged him intellectually and artistically, a rare combination.
Life began to make sense again to John as his relationship with Yoko grew. He and Yoko embraced a leadership role in the worldwide peace movement. As much as he loved music, he began to see it as a platform for creating social change. He saw the unlikely connection between two people born on opposite sides of the world, as karma. After years of questioning, he believed he had found his purpose.
Today, I will express gratitude to someone who encouraged me to accept who I am.

Join March's Metal Health Lessons
When John Lennon admitted "Help! I need somebody" in 1965, he shattered expectations for rock stars by choosing vulnerability over invincibility. That radical honesty revealed how The Beatles understood that acknowledging struggle doesn't diminish strength, it creates the foundation for sustainable success. Throughout March, we'll explore how their approach to mental wellness, emotional honesty, and inner refuge provides actionable frameworks for leaders navigating burnout, anxiety, and unprecedented pressure in every area of life.
